So guess what, folks, it's convention season in the comics world! (Yes yes, I'm about a month late or something, but I'm slow! Wait, that didn't sound good. Um, never mind!)
Anyway! It's con-season, and you know what that means? Artists will be getting together and hanging out! (If they're not doing that already, like if they draw in a studio with other artists, or if they hang out with other artists on a regular basis, but...you get what I mean.) And if you're hanging out after a convention in an eatery or boozehouse or whathaveyou, you may want to play a little game, and boy, do I have the little game just for you!

Now, what is this craziness of which I speak? Well, I've been thinking about this for a while now, about as far back as when I started this insanity. Wouldn't this be a fun game to play with your artist pals in real time? Yes, I think it would! (I think. I've yet to try it.) Basically, it's the same as normal, uh, dead...idleness OPI (thank you, thesaurus!), but you're doing it with your friends in public! And surely, you will have fun...doing it with your friends...IN PUBLIC.
So here are the "rules" that I came up with:
1. Everyone pulls out a piece of paper and takes 1-5 minutes drawing an improvised panel of a comic. The time can be longer if you want, but I'd say stick to a few minutes to keep things moving along. Plus, a little franticness will surely increase the FQ (Fun Quotient).
2. Pass your piece of paper to your pal on your left.
3. Draw the next panel of the comic you just got handed.
4. Pass that piece of paper to your pal on your left.
5. Repeat until the page is filled with panels, or flip over and work on the back, or pull out another piece of paper to continue, or whatever seems like the most fun at your current level of exhaustion, derangement, or drunkenness. (Also, I'm sure the FQ will increase substantially with booze!)
Personally, I think one page would be a good endpoint to this game. It gives you a definitive end, and you can move onto different comics if you'd like. Whatever you do, I'd suggest figuring out your end point before you start because there are only so many hours to the day, and this could go on forever, and you're not sure if you turned off the iron or toaster...or something.
